I am an American-Canadian hybrid, currently residing in Calgary, Alberta with a handsome man and our hilarious offspring. Since obtaining my BFA in Acting/Directing, I have worked as an actor, playwright, theatre administrator, Barbie for Mattel functions, and freelance grant writer for various non-profits. My addictions to dialogue and characters propel me to write. All that leftover teen angst may also be a contributing factor.
My favourite methods of getting to know someone are found in Microserfs, High Fidelity, and Amélie. Let’s borrow the genius of others to round this bio out, shall we?
My Dream Jeopardy Categories (Microserfs, Douglas Coupland)
You know, Hackers…the 1995 cinematic masterpiece starring Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie. Test me on quotes, characters, and on-set weddings. I’ll crush it.
Oasis vs. Blur
This was perhaps the most controversial war of my lifetime. The battle of the UK bands, as it were. You want to quiz me on who said what or who actually won the war? I’m on it.
I have a six-year old and a four-year old. I’ve played the game. I’ve read the instruction manuals. I’ve read the unofficial chapter books. Come at me, bro.
Cooking Times for Kraft Dinner
I’m not proud of this one, okay? But if you want to know how long to cook spirals versus shells, I’m your gal. I can even tell you how cooking times vary when you’re at sea level.
TV (1980’s – Present)
As an unapologetic lover of television, I am proud of this one. I could write a thesis on why Lorelei Gilmore should not have ended up with Luke and this is only the tip of the iceberg, baby.
The Works of Robert Munsch
I’ve cried at Love You Forever, I’ve cheered for The Paperbag Princess. I can tell you who the best illustrators are and why.
Hotels for Snobs
From seaside motels to chic boutiques, let me tell you the qualities that make the best hotels great (Hint: Every question and answer revolve around the hotel being deathly quiet from 10pm-8am.)

Grace, Jeff Buckley
Everyday Robots, Damon Albarn
In Rainbows, Radiohead
(Last Night We Were) The Delicious Wolves, Hawksley Workman
Music for Egon Schiele, Rachel’s
